About Us

IBSA, Inc. is a Kansas-based, tax-exempt not-for-profit organization that has been dedicated to empowering the African American and minority business community since its founding in Topeka in 1993. Our mission is to provide comprehensive programs that include employment and training services, youth development, community service activities, and small business support.

We were established by our President/CEO, Lazone Grays, to address the systemic inequalities and lack of structural opportunities facing the local Black population, believing that economic empowerment is the key to reducing poverty, crime, and despair. Our focus is on long-term solutions, serving low-income youth, adults, and entrepreneurs in the Topeka/Shawnee County area and beyond.

IBSA, Inc. is recognized for its representation and advocacy on behalf of the Black and minority business community by local and state government leaders, including Topeka Mayors and Kansas Governors since 1996. We champion local Black business achievement and excellence, and are committed to working with enterprising youth and young adults to grow our nationwide Ujamaa Club Network Black-Owned Business Directory.
